Brompton's next generation of folding bicycles are faster, lighter and available to hire
Brompton Bike Hire (‘BBH’) sells and manages a network of Bicycle hiring stations (‘Docks’) designed for the Brompton folding Bicycle. To September 2017 the company has sold 44 Docks to Partners, including councils, train operators and companies. The network has 796 Bicycles and is used by 4,532 active Members across 20 UK cities. BBH manages the operation of the network and Members pay BBH for their annual subscription and to hire the Bicycles.
BBH is looking to raise Investment in order to prepare the business for international expansion. The money will be used to:
- increase the size of the existing network by installing Docks in strategic locations
- develop the service (technically and in customer experience)
This will bring the network past its critical mass and result in faster future growth and improved profitability.
The first part of the Investment will be raised privately through Envestors, followed in May by a public raise on Crowdcube (within the same round) allowing Brompton enthusiasts to invest alongside experienced investors.
